Dear Human Rights Watch Supporter,
For years we have documented appalling abuses in Darfur. This year, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, an important step for justice.
The weapons called cluster munitions have a deadly impact on civilians, even years after the fighting stopped, our research showed. Our work helped lead to a treaty – now signed by 100 countries – banning cluster bombs.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, we made great strides in securing the prosecution of sexual violence and stemming the recruitment of child soldiers.
And in the United States, we brought to light the backlog in untested DNA evidence from rapes and successfully pushed local and national leaders to facilitate policy changes.
We celebrate many other successes this year. Learn about more of our achievements >>
Thanks for standing with us. Together, we can continue promoting human rights and justice around the world.
We bring evidence to light.
We push for action at the highest levels.
None of this is possible without your help.
We thank you for your continued support,
Human Rights Watch
